Santiago B. Marroquin Sr. went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Santiago was born on March 22, 1934 in Alice, Texas as one of 11 children to Jose and Gregoria Marroquin. Santiago was a loving and caring husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was known to everyone as "Chago" and loved spending time with family by bringing laughter and smiles every opportunity he got. Santiago was an active parishioner in many different ministries at St. John Fisher Catholic Church; during his services to the church he held the position as President of the Guadalupanas, member of the Tesoros, and an usher every Sunday. He was a retired employee of W.K.M after working there for many years. Chago also loved the Houston Oilers/Texans and enjoyed watching every game with his children and grandchildren. Santiago leaves behind his loving wife Maria Silvestra Marroquin of 56 years, his sisters Juanita Hernandez, Maria Cuellar and special niece Mary Lou Rios; children Eddie Marroquin and wife Debra, Jimmy and wife Connie, Rene and wife Tiffany, Michael and wife Melissa, Veronica Aguilar and husband Charlie. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren which he enjoyed being an active grandpa in their life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Guadalupe, Carlos, Gilberto, Ricardo, Gabriella, Consuelo, Fidel and Jose Jr., and grandson Nicholas Aguilar.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Richmond, Texas followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at St. John Fisher Catholic Church followed by a burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Richmond.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time, and would especially like to thank Joe and Mary Caudillo for always being great friends to Santiago.
