Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Lee Langston, 80, answered the call of Christ during the early morning hours of April 7, 2015.
Born November 3, 1943 in Winston-Salem, NC, Barbara was the eldest child born to Deacon Charles Lee and Corinea Miller Lee.
Barbara attended school in the Reading School District. Barbara was affectionately known as "Bobbie" and many others called her "Mom Langston."
Barbara was employed by Carpenter Technology in Reading, PA as a Tester for over 20 years.
Barbara was a loyal wife, a good mother, a wonderful grandmother, a loving sister and great friend to many. Barbara was known for baking some of the best pound cakes in town. She loved the Lord, she loved to serve, she loved to shop, she loved to cook and bake, and she loved to spending time with the Fabulous Five, her best friends.
Barbara joined the St. James Chapel COGIC 45 years ago under the calling from Christ and the Leadership of the late Rev. James McCracken. After the passing of Rev. McCracken, she continued to serve under the leadership of Rev. Frances D. McCracken and Elder Steven McCracken as an usher, food bank volunteer and hospitality committee.
Barbara was blessed with her husband of 55 years, Henry E. Langston. In addition to her husband, she was blessed with seven children, God's number of completion; Jacqueline Lee (LeVerne) Smith, Darrell Lee, Sr. all of Reading, PA, Sherry Lee (Alfred, Jr.) Horn of Leesport, PA, Daniel Lee, Sr. of Reading, PA, Lenora Langston Gibbs of Muhlenberg Twp., PA, Letitia Langston (Nathaniel) Johnson of Reading, PA, and Vance (Vickii) Langston of Muhlenberg Twp., PA; 19 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; four brothers, Carver (Janet) Lee of Tampa, FL, James (Carol)Lee of Muhlenberg Twp., PA, Lawrence(Takako) Lee of Crestview, FL; two sisters, Frances (Turner) Siebels, Laurel, MD and Lucretia "Linda" Lee of Exeter, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Daniel Lee and her sisters, Gwendolyn Lee Lewis and Hazel Lee Leftwich.
