Sheryl Eileen Omell, age 70, of Houghton Lake passed away at her home on Tuesday January 27, 2015.
Sheryl was born on December 29, 1944 in Prosper, Michigan to Clarence & Hazel (Outman) Kregear. She has lived in the Houghton Lake area for 48 years. She married William M. Omell on February 4, 1966 in Lake City. She was a member of the Houghton Lake Arts Association, she participated in many craft shows, she enjoyed canning, cooking and was a wonderful baker.
Sheryl is survived by her loving husband of almost 49 years William Omell of Houghton Lake, daughter; Paula (Brian) Michols of Sault Ste. Marie, son; William (Debbie Bell) Omell of Houghton Lake, three grandchildren; Shelby Nichols, Jason Nichols, Shawn Omell, sister; Carolann (Richard) Roys of Merritt. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Erwin Kregear, Gene Kregear, Lester Kregear and a sister Betty Moore.
Visitation is scheduled at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel on Friday January 30, 2015 from 5-8 pm. The funeral will take place on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Merritt-Butterfield United Methodist Church. You may express your condolences to the family at www.christler-holdship.com
