Frederic "Fritz" Lee Reed Sr., age 81, of Roscommon passed away on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Grayling Mercy Manor with his family by his side.
Fritz was born October 25, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to Frederic L. & Lauretta E. (Caron) Reed. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors where he worked as a sheet metal bender for 35 years. He married Vera F. Guthmiller on April 13, 1953 in Warren. The couple moved to Roscommon 24 years ago. He was a member of the AMVETS, the Grayling Moose, Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed playing the guitar, organ, keyboard, and harmonica, and he especially enjoyed playing golf at White Deer Country Club and Pine View.
Fritz is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Vera Reed of Roscommon, son, Dennis Reed of Missouri, son, Frederic (Tina) Reed Jr. of Roscommon, daughter, Linda Reed of Warren, daughter, Donna Pollard of Warren, daughter Patricia (Edward) Sommerville of Warren, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John, sisters, Betty, Therese, Rita, and Gertrude.
