Jesse L. Vaughn, 91, of Houghton Lake passed away on Friday January 9, 2015 at home with his loving family by his side.

Jesse was born on June 19, 1923 in Vestaburg, Michigan to John and Hazel(Kelley) Vaughn. Jesse worked as a press operator for Kelvinator Company in Grand Rapids for many years. He was married on January 14, 1945 in Alma to Betty M. Mull. He was a huge Michigan State fan and an avid NASCAR follower. Jesse was a member of Houghton Lake Eagles.

Surviving Mr. Vaughn are his four daughters, Susan (Henry) Herrmann of Hudsonville, MI, Barbara (Craig) Faber of Fruitport, Linda (Roger) Wojtylko of Houghton Lake, and Laura Reed of Houghton Lake; son, Randy Vaughn of West Branch; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; two brothers, Robert Vaughn of Three Rivers, and Dale Vaughn of Holt. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty M. Vaughn; great grandson, Jesse Gallup; 3 brothers, Mike Vaughn, Jack Vaughn, and Kenny Vaughn, and 2 sisters Dorothy Bourland, and Ethel Conklin.

Celebration of Life services for Jesse L. Vaughn will be held on Saturday January 31, 2015 from 1-3 pm, the service will take place at 1 pm at the Houghton Lake Eagles, 101 Crestview Drive, Houghton Lake. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township. Memorial Contribution in memory of Jesse are asked to be directed to the Houghton Lake Eagles.
