Allan Wilbur Gillis of Belcamp died Monday, December 15 at Johns Hopkins Bayview. He was 90.

Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Rev. Allan and Helen (Snyder) Gillis. Mr. Gillis retired from civil service at Aberdeen Proving Ground, was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Ann (Twitchell) Gillis, son Allan Wayne Gillis and wife Betty of Belcamp, daughter Barbara Lynn (Gillis) Jacobs and husband Ken of Aberdeen, son Glenn Michael Gillis and wife Ellie of Aberdeen, daughter-in-law Carol Gillis Weisil and husband Bill of North East, step-daughter Eve Margaret (Price) Bour and husband Kirk of Aberdeen and step-son Richard Slaughter Price of Havre de Grace and a sister Jane Virginia Fleming of Bel Air.

In addition to his parents Mr. Gillis was predeceased by his first wife Nancy Barnes Gillis and son David Barnes Gillis.

He was affectionately known as Bebob by his nine grandchildren, his seven great grandchildren and by many family friends.

In his later years he enjoyed his winters in Florida where he would canoe and golf and is the only family member to get a hole-in-one.

A visitation will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Aberdeen on Saturday, December 27th from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. A memorial service to begin at 1:00 pm will be conducted by Dr. Robert Clipp. Interment will be at a later date at Baker Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 110 W. Bel Air Ave., Aberdeen, MD 21001.
