Fred L. Tipton Sr., age 96, of Middletown, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 11, 1918, in Lombard, Kentucky, the son of Samuel Tipton and Elizabeth (Brewer) Tipton. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He worked at General Motors and retired after 30 years of service. He is survived by five children, Forest (Isabelita) Tipton, Fred (Merry) Tipton Jr., Donald (Bobbie) Tipton, Karen (Wayne) Edds, Betsy (Chris) Bernard; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; one sister, Yvonne Roberts; one brother; James Tipton; one sister-in-law, Mary Blankenship; and one brother-in-law, Jim Denny. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Leona Tipton; his parents; seven siblings and a brother-in-law, Fred Denny. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Reed officiating. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
