Richard Leo "Dick" Collier Sr. of Aberdeen died Tuesday, March 18 at the University of MD Shock Trauma Center. He was 92. Born in Benham, Kentucky he was the son of the late Neal F. and Cornelia (Hurd) Collier and husband of the late Betty (Long) Collier. Mr. Collier retired as General Manager for United Automatic Sales, Inc. in Aberdeen and was a member of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Aberdeen Moose, past member of the Aberdeen Chapter of the Optimist, a member of the 6th Field Artillery, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He is survived by his children; James H. Collier, Sr. of Hudson, FL, Jerry L. Collier of Perryman, Karen E. Serfinski of St. Petersburg, FL, Donald B. Collier, Sr. of Aberdeen, Sandra L. Weeks of Aberdeen, and Linda S. Koch of Port Deposit, two brothers, Charles Collier of Salisbury, MD and Carl Collier of Plymouth, IN. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a few great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his son, Richard L. Collier, Jr.; daughter, Frances A. Mitchell and his brothers Ted and Ben Collier. A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services conducted by Dr. Robert Clipp will be held on Monday, March 24 at 10:00am at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
