On October 26, 1967; a beautiful baby boy was born named Jerry Lemond Favors to Mr. L. C. and Johnnie Mae Favors in Austin, Texas. He attended public schools in Austin, Texas where he graduated from the John H. Reagan High School 1985, and Capital City Trade and Tech in 1986 where he received his degree in Auto Mechanics.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Emmanuel Baptist Church. Later moved his membership to Willie Chapel Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a youth sponsor working with the youth department, singing in the choir and working with the Brotherhood. After moving his membership from Willie Chapel Primitive Baptist Church he joined Damascus Christian Fellowship where he was a Deacon in Training under the leadership of Pastor Bryon K. Miller until his health began to fail.
He started working at the age of 14. He worked in grocery retail at Apple-Tree for 18 years, and moved into the field of Healthcare, where he worked at The Oaks Treatment Center, Therapeutic Communities, lnc.; Ridge Oaks Living Campus and then in the field of Security where he worked at Triple D Armor Truck, Night Eyes Security under Steve Bridgewater until his health failed him, 2J's Hamburger and Side Pocket - the list could go on and on for Jerry was a hard working man.
On March 2, 1991 he united in Holy Matrimony to Marsha Yvette Reynolds and they were married for 23 years until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Johnnie Mae Favors, one sister, Kellie Jo Burns, two brothers Ernest Leon and Roger Louis Favors; his grandparents Bud 'Wiley Wiser, Sr., Clarneta and George W. White and Caroline Mitchell; two nieces Kellie Roshea and Jennifer Denise Bums one nephew Anthony Eugene Mosley, Sr.; two great nephews Larry Donnell Henderson and Lyle Avery Ellison.
He leaves to mourn: his devoted wife of 22 years Marsha Yvette Reynolds-Favors; one son, Lucas Alan Reynolds; two daughters, Jerree Lemonda Favors and Ciara Yvette Favors, all of Austin, Texas: one grandson Lucas Alan Reynolds Jr (Li'l Stomper); three brothers, Chester Favors of Austin, Texas, Rev. Robert Earl Favors (Faith) of Kansas. City, Missouri and Addison Jerome Favors (Judy) of Austin, Texas; four brothers-in-law Rev. James E. Bums of Dime Box. Texas. Harold E. Reynolds (Virginia), Keith A. Reynolds of Austin, Texas and Paul E. Reynolds (Laura)of Round Rock, Texas; In-law Ellis L. and Clara Reynolds of Austin. Texas; aunts Rose Marie Mills of Houston, Texas, Corine Mathis and lnez Currington of San Antonio, Texas; uncles Rufus Burleson of San Antonio, Texas, Frank Burleson of San Marcos, Texas: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and friends. He also had a hand in raising some of his great nephews, Anthony Eugene Mosley Jr. Christopher Lemond Shaw and Joshua O'Byran Dennis.
