Alice Faye (Faye Faye) Coleman was born August 14, 1948 to Lenno and Frankie Coleman in San Antonio Texas. After moving to Austin with her family she attended Austin area schools. She later graduated from Old Anderson High School. She later went on to further her education at an Austin area business school.

Alice Faye met and married Harvey Smith, Sr. and from this union four kids were had Orrin, Chelsea, Clinton and Harvey, Jr. After many years together they divorced and she met and married Robert C. Horton, Sr. and from this union two children were born, Charles and Tanishia. Alice Faye was blessed to also have Robert's two children from a previous marriage, Cynthia and Robert, Jr., that she helped raise as her own. She made her blended family love and care for each other which made us one.

Over the years Alice Faye worked at several places in Austin, such as Travis State School, Travis County Health Department and the City of Austin where she stayed until she retired.

Alice Faye had a liver transplant over twenty-one years ago and lived her second chance to the fullest.

Alice joined Bethany Christian Church under Pastor W.W. Booker where she stayed for over twenty years. Alice moved her membership to Gildon Creek Third Baptist Church under Pastor C. Wayne Bowser where she remained. At Bethany, Alice Faye loved her positions as president of the Benevolence Committee. Reaching others is what she has always done. She was over the Pastor Aide and Pastor's Anniversary Committee. After going to Gildon she continued her Benevolence duties. Alice Faye had the ability to reach others and allow them to trust her. Her ministry allowed her to use her infamous flip phone to become a blessing to so many. No conversation was left undone. Her other joy was all her grandkids and great grandkids. Mama was strong in her faith and knew she had the love God on her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Horton, Sr., her dad, Rev. Lenno Coleman, Sr., her great grandmother Elia Jones, brother Lenno Coleman, Jr., her nephew Willie Clark, brother in-law Willie Clark, Sr. and numerous others.

Those that survive her are her children: Orrin Smith, Sr. (Rhonda), Cynthia Sampson, Charles Horton, Clinton Smith (Rachelle), Harvey Smith, Jr. (Myrnaliz), Robert Horton, Jr. (Gayle), Tanishia Horton, and Chelsea Mitchell (Henry). Her mother, Frankie Coleman; sister, Elia Clark; brother, Raymond Randle and uncle, Johnnie James; grandchildren and great grandchildren; half-siblings: Beatrice Garcia, Diane, Kenneth Ray, Anthony Lee, Arthur Coleman, and Jermaine all of Kingsville, Texas and Shirley Nickerson of Houston, Texas; numerous family and friends. With love we mention her prayer warrior partners that she loved so dearly, The Golden Girls, Delores Alspaugh, Georgia Booker, Claudette Carr, Rose Pennick, Barbara Dory and Ruth Bowser.
