A Funeral Mass for Shirley Ann Koudelka, 72, of Caldwell, is set for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell, with Father Anthony Alphonse officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Strickland Funeral Home, with a rosary being read at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Koudelka passed away on October 15, 2012 at her home in Caldwell surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born September 1, 1940 to Frank Orsag and Elsie (Skrabanek) Orsag in Caldwell, Texas. Shirley loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her son, Charles "Chuck" Koudelka of Caldwell, daughter and son-in-law, Karen & Michael Brinkman of Caldwell; sister, Betty Mishler of Houston; sister-n-law Rose and husband David Valigura; special friend, Billy Jon Novasod; grandchildren, Kristan, Kyle, and Kevin Brinkman; great grandchild, Kadyn McRee, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Howard Koudelka; and son, Keith Charles Koudelka.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
