Guestbook for David Allen Ethridge, Ph.D.

Dear Ethridge Family,
I was thinking of Todd when I decided to Google his name today. I was sad to see this. Your dad was one cool man, and he was so very nice with our family. My father passed three years ago, so I feel your loss. I work with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, so I will light a candle and say a prayer. Take care, and may God have your family in his prayers

David, you were one of the most pleasant people to whom I ever sold an automobile. I grew up in Napa and enjoyed your insightful wine recommendations. I called you today to discuss wine and am now so sad to have learned of your passing. You are greatly missed.

Dear Mrs. Ethridge,
I am so sorry for your loss.
Dr. Ethridge has been a gracious influence in the continued growth of the Occupational Therapy program at Baker College. Each graduate joins the profession with the ethics and values Dr. Ethridge instilled in our curriculum. He continued to advise us as an active member of our advisory board for over 17 year. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Aunt JoAnn, Uncle David was not only our uncle, he was a dear and special friend. Your invitations to Canadian Lakes really brought our families closer, and we always appreciated your hospitality there. Our kids loved it!
But of course, the real bonding took place at the end of every April, when Uncle David would be a wine judge, and you and I would hang out. Then all four of us went to the Guild Gala, tasted amazing wines, and ate wonderful food with you.
Thank you for including us in the circle of hospitality you and Uncle David created together no matter where you were.
We love you,
Roger and Margaret

Joni,
I am so sorry for the loss of David. He was such a kind, wonderful man. When I was new to Lapeer and to the Wine Tasters Guild, he made me feel very welcome and a part of the group. We are all a little less with his passing, but he will live on by all that knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Although I never met Dr. Ethridge, I wanted the family to know how much I looked forward to reading his wine column in the local newspaper. Reading his obituary, I see that he lead quite an accomplished life. It seems that he did many things very well. Sincerest sympathy to Mrs. Ethridge and their family and friends.

Joni,
Our community has lost a very special man, who's wit, intelligence and generosity served us in extraordinary ways. I am grateful for working with him at Team Work, for his guidance and support, and, his untiring efforts on behalf of the agency. He treated people with respect and was always willing to listen and lend a hand if he could - and, of course, loved questions about wine. He contributed much and will be sorely missed.

"The idea is to die young as late as possible."~Ashley Montagu I worked with David at Lapeer Team Work for several years and have been friends with Joni and him for many more. David was always youthful, good-natured, supportive, and had an easy laugh for all. He was genuine in his support of the Lapeer community on many fronts but especially of those who were least able to help themselves. I will miss his joy of life, the joy he shared and most of all the man himself..
