Patty, I am so sorry to learn of Tom’s passing and the loss of your husband and closest friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please take comfort in knowing that Tom is in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a great man in many ways and it was always a positive and upbeat time whenever I would meet him. I and many others will miss him.

I just returned from visiting my daughter in Australia and I am sorry that I missed his services.

With great respect,
Jeff Scott

Dear Patty and Girls,
I remember the first time I met your husband/Dad;it was at Brooke Point High School. He had come to career days to share his work with others. One of the girls was with him. At that time I knew what a generous and caring person he was. Always ready to help the community in his work. He was fortune too have such a loving and dedicated family. I know how much you will miss him.
My love and thoughts are with you all today.

I served on the Board of Directors when Tom was the President of both the Fbg Chamber of Commerce and Fbg Rotary Club. Tom guided both groups with an abundance of intelligence and wit. He gave greatly to the Fbg community and will be missed tremendously.

Dear Patty, Becky and Knox,

We were blessed to meet you before our move to Fredericksburg from Richmond 27 years ago. You even helped us find our family home.

You have been wonderful friends through the years.

Our love, thoughts and prayers have been with you as your family has gone through this very difficult time.

Tom was a true "Southern Gentleman". Your family, our community and the Commonwealth have suffered a great loss.

Love, Betty

Patty,

Virginia has lost a genuine gentleman and a great veteran. I recall sitting next to him when George Allen was being sworn in as Governor many years ago and shared with him his commitment to advancing a better Virginia by supporting individuals of great character. We have lost such a man and Tom's example will not be soon forgotten. I was honored to have known him. All my respect and prayers to your family. I would be honored to help you or your family in any way should you need it.

Dear Patty and family:
My main memories of Tom are how smart he was, yet so unpretentious. When he was with Walt back in Walt's City Attorney days, I got to see a lot of him. A fine and honest man with a heck of a sense of humor. He left us too soon.

Tom had such a great sense of humor. He could play a good joke and take one too. I will never forget the wonderful trips to Skyline, the CRAZY parties, the New Year's Eve celebrations, the Army-Navy battles, and the exchange of yard decorations. Tom was a great business partner, community leader, friend, and family man. During the last two years we have all marveled at his strength, courage and spirit. He set an example for all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Dear Patty and Family:

My sincere condolences on Tom's passing. I had the utmost respect for Tom, not only as an attorney but also as a person, and I truly enjoyed working with him on various occasions. If there is a golf course in heaven I'll bet he's on the first tee now.

Joan and Dwight Peck express our sincere condolences to Patty and all of Tom's family on his passing.

We met Tom through business and public activities. While those experiences revealed what an outstanding community leader he was, more importantly it revealed what a tremendous individual and family leader he was.

Tom will be missed by all who knew him, and the Fredericksburg area will miss him greatly at a time when we need people like him more than ever.

Tom's life is truly an example we all should follow.
