Guestbook for Deborah Reid Cooke Showing 1 - 7 of 7 entries.

My heart goes out to your family. I am so sorry for your loss. Ms. Deborah was loved and she will be dearly missed. Though the pain you're feeling must seem unbearable, please remember that you are not alone. Psalms 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." Pray to Him for strength. Weep to Him when there are no words. One of the poets of the Bible said at Psalms 56:8, "You keep track of my wandering. Do collect my tears in your skin bottle." You see, God understands your pain and He cares for you very much (1 Peter 5:7). And He will really help you get through this difficult time (Isaiah 41:10).

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Debbie. I cannot begin to express how much the news of her death has affected me. She was so much more than my art teacher- she was my mentor, my encourager, my friend. I was always amazed at her capacity to care for others, especially her students. My life was forever changed by her and I know the lives of many others have been as well. She will always be my favorite teacher and my inspiration.

I had no idea Debi was sick. I owe so much to her. We grew up together in Florence. We were in school together and shared interests in music. She got me to move to Greenville where I taught school. We both lived at "Century Oaks". We worked together in the house in Liberty (oh the scraping of paint on the fireplace.) We remained very close while I was in Greenville. I remember driving to Liberty one Sunday to see her. Duke was playing Maryland and I decided not to go. I turned around to go back and watch the game. I was in the clubhouse when Ellie (my future) wife walked in. Debi was at our wedding. We have hanging in our home the :"Indian Love Prayer" she gave us for a wedding present. Not knowing Debi was sick, we were going to Greenville in a couple of weeks and planned on giving her a call and getting together for lunch.

We had not talked in a while, she was a dear, sweet friend that I will always remember and think of.

Dear family I offer the sincere condolences of my family and I. Losing a loved one stings in a way that nothing else does. The Bible does offer us comfort that can help us to deal with the situation now and gives us a hope for the future. Isaiah 33:24 speaks of a time when sickness will be completely removed forever. Please continue to rely on Amighty God for comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 tells us God will comfort us during difficult times in life. Please visit JW.org for more encouragement.
