Owen, I am going to miss your smiles that I have become accustomed to seeing everyday when I came into the Camp Jewel kitchen. You will be missed dearly but I know now you are in a better place.

Dear Kathy and Glenn, Was shocked and saddened to hear of Owen. We carry some of the sadness daily about this and can't imagine how hard it is for you to bear. Life can be so difficult at times and it is terrible that this happened in your family. Why can't life be fair? He seemed quiet but so kind. Our thoughts go out to you. Brian and Susanne McCarthy

We are very saddened by the loss of one of our Tang Soo Do family members. Each of us knows the hard work and dedication it takes to become a Black Belt. Knowing what he must have struggled to overcome, makes that accomplishment even more honorable. With deep respect we send our thoughts and prayers to Owen and his family.

I learned of Owen's passing, and my heart was broken. I am blessed to have met Owen this past summer as we were both members of Litchfield County Choral Union. I have been singing with his father Glen for years with LCCU and Connecticut Yankee Chorale. Good bye, Owen. Praying that you have found a place of peace. The bass section of LCCU will not sound the name without you.... A special prayer to Glen and Owen's family and friends.

I had not seen Owen in years, but I just recognized him in my Anthropology class this month. We chatted about his family, and how my husband worked at the hospital with his parents. I was fortunate to be in the same class group as him, where he took charge and made us all feel comfortable about our final exam. Owen was the smartest student in our class, and it was so fresh and enlightening for an older classmate like me. I shook his hand and gave him a hug goodbye that Monday - a truly magnificent and caring young person to meet, again. God bless your family with our love and prayers for you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when Owen first started in martial arts. We watched him grow from a quiet student to a confident Black Belt who eagerly helped Mrs. Janak in class. Please accept our condolences.

Dear Kathy, Glen and Jane
Please know that we and your entire church family send prayers and love at this most difficult time in the loss of Owen. I have fond memories that date back to when he was a 3 yr old at Children's Discovery Center. He will forever hold a special place in my heart for all the times he helped during Sunday School pageants and Children's Day!

Dear Lovejoy Family:
I will think of Owen as a student who became family; a person who beamed light for others, and the memory of that will never be extinguished. The second seat in my first row will always be Owen's. I hope I am able to live up to all of the things he believed and told me I was capable of. From him, we all learned so much about ourselves, and that is an eternal gift. Thank you for blessing us with Owen.
