Dear David and Kathy,
I just now heard the news about Brian and am so very sorry I wasn't there to give you both a hug in person. I remember meeting Brian as a child and will always remember the beautiful smile he had. I can only imagine the pain you must be feeling right now. My only regret is that your Brian and my John never got to meet up again in their later years. I am sure they would have been good friends. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for you to have comfort in knowing how many lives were touched by your courageous and accomplished son. He was so very lucky to have you both as his parents, as I am sure you both feel about having him as your son.

Love and Deepest Sympathy to you both and your family,
Madeline

I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Brian as a smiling and energetic middle school student who brought a great deal of happiness to everything that he did. He brought perspective that made me a better teacher and a better person. He will be greatly missed.

On behalf of the entire Shields family, I would like to express our very sincere condolences to the King family on Brian's passing. This was a special person, a young man of indomitable spirit and courage, with a sense of humor that inspired us all as he constantly defied the many difficulties life threw at him. Our family was honored to know him as friends, neighbors and schoolmates, and we are all very much the better for it. May God bless Brian and now also grant comfort to his parents, brothers and sister at this exceedingly sad time. We love you guys!

For the family,

Brian, you are an inspiration and a beautiful person with a beautiful spirit. Jeff was one of the luckiest people in the world to have witnessed your endearing personality and positivity first hand as a close friend. You will be missed by so many and thought of often. We could all learn something from your strength and kind heart!

I also worked as a meal aide at Edinboro University, which is where I met my first gingers. Though the food wasn't the greatest, that job was the best!! I got to hangout with some amazing people who became my closest friends. I truly miss those times. I hope we can have lunch again, Brian, when my time here is up. Hopefully its a chicken patty day.

I worked as a meal-aid at Edinboro University. Brian was such a joy to work with. I would always want to work with brian because we always would talk about sports since we shared similar interests. Brian was the most well respected, sweetest, kind and hard working people I have had the pleasure of knowing. May he truly rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends!

I am inspired by Brian for the way he lived. His philosophy of "peace, love, and harmony" is powerful and humane. So if ever I find myself without enough peace, love, or harmony, I'll think of Brian and he will surely lift my spirits. Go in peace Brian King. My thoughts with the King Family.

My Son, Derek, was friends with Brian for many years part of a strong circle of friends with Brian. Brian brought out the best in Derek and his friends. He was a true inspiration for all of them and helped to raise the bar in showing them how a life is meant to be lived. They are all much better people because of Brian and will miss him dearly.

My sincere condolences to your family. Please know that Brian's spirit, kindness, humanity, and big heart will live on forever in his forever grateful and loving friends.

So sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I met him as a meal aide at Edinboro and he was always a sweet and funny guy. Some of my best memories came from working there during our college years. I'm sure many other meal aides and students would agree! Brian will definitely be missed by all of us! Another of the bunch taken too soon :( but his memories will always live on!
