I knew Father when he was Pastor at Holy Spirit, and I was honored to serve as attorney for the Parish on occasion. He was a truly gentle and genial man and one of the clients I most cherished representing. I regret that I did not know sooner so that I could have attended the services. My condolences and prayers to the family.

Father Lang was a junior at Hillside HS when I was a student teacher there in the English department. We kept in touch for several years and his letters were always uplifting and inspirational---and well-written, of course. I was not at all surprised when he told me of his plans to enter the priesthood. I knew he had the personality, warmth and understanding so important to a people's priest. He honored me by coming to my wedding and gifted us with a crucifix which still hangs in my home. I feel privileged to have had Len in my life and memories of him will stay in my heart forever.

We were privileged to know Father Lang when he served the Christian Community of St. Mary's School and Church where the children loved his sermons & time he gave them. Parishioners migrated to his exceptional manner of Communication & Compassion that all related to in their own personal way. Father Lang gave so much of himself to the Church and fostered Faith, Hope, and Love in all who crossed his path. There were not enough hours in the day for he worked at his vocation 24/7. I thank God he touched the lives of my family. The verse that comes to mind when I remember Father Leonard P. Lang Jr. is Revelation 14:13 "Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "They will Rest from their Labor, for Their Deeds will Follow Them." He will always be remembered with Grateful Appreciation.

Fr. Lang gave me a holy card shortly after his arrival at St. Leo's. It's message really spoke to me and I still have it in my Bible. May God bless his soul.
