Gerald and Shirley were supporters of mission in Romania. They were always considerate of our activity and in the later years Shirley would appreciate a personal visit and update. Their personal prayers and support were always a greatly appreciated.

We were so thankful to know Shirley Polinder and to be so often on the receiving end of her hospitality. We valued her friendship, her deep faith and her service orientation. Since moving away from Lynden about two decades ago we have come to miss many things about Lynden but what we miss the most is choice servants of Christ like Shirley. We are thankful she is with her Lord, but saddened by the loss to her family and to the church on earth. We express our heartfelt condolence to her extended family.

I counted Shirley as a special friend. We were there for each other during the hills and valleys of our lives. In our last conversation she said, "Whether I live or die I belong to my Lord." These words are comforting to me and trust they are to her family as well.

What a special woman Shirley was! I am honored to be among those who were impacted by her genuine faith, loyal friendship and wonderful sense of humor. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Condolences to EVERY family member. Praying the Spirit comforts you and that the promise of an eternal "Family Reunion" speak peace & joy to your hurting hearts.

Our deepest sympathy to Shirley's family. She was such a sweet and sincere lady. She was one of my mom's favorite cousins. We will miss her.
