My sincere condolences go her family.Ellie was a friend in high school and many years after. I'll always remember her eagerness to be the best basketball player on our hi school team and she was! Nancy

I will always remember her sense of humor and the sound of her laugh. She was always forthright in her opinions (a characteristic which I share and value).

One of my earliest memories of my Aunt Eleanor was one summer in the early '50s during a family visit to Troy. The young Eleanor was leaving to drive -- by herself -- out West to Wyoming. My father and grandfather were teaching her how to change the tire on her car. She was beautiful with her gorgeous red hair and seemed confident and independent as she she waved goodbye the next morning and drove off on her adventure. What a wonderful example she was to me as a child! She will be missed!

The last time I spoke with Aunt Eleanor was on a chilly February evening. I called her out of the blue to talk about my father, his current health and end of life wishes. She did not seem at all surprised to hear from me and in minutes we were laughing and talking like old friends. I regret that we did not have more opportunities for conversations like this. Her salt-of-the-earth wisdom and sage advice coupled with a boundless humor were gifts she gave easily. I will miss her greatly. Her passing has come suddenly and too soon.

I will miss Aunt Eleanor very much. I remember her contagious laughter and her love of those tiny little dogs that were always by her feet, or sitting in her favorite chair along side her. This goes back years, of course. One of my fondest memories was catching fire flies in her back yard and having BBQ with family in Troy on a warm summer night back when times were simple and souls were more pure. I know Jesus has her close to him and in His will, it was time to take her home.
