Mary Louise Wilkinson (Fletcher) was born July 2, 1944 in Lebanon, Oregon to Marvin and Helen Fletcher. She lived in Albany until she was five and then moved to the farm in Dever-Conner, Oregon. She spent the rest of her life in Dever-Conner, except for her freshman year of college at Seattle Pacific.
She attended Dever Grade School, Salem Academy High School, Seattle Pacific University, and graduated from Oregon College of Education in 1966 (now WOU).
In 1968 she married her husband Dan, and they made a life together. They added to their family their son David (Kristy): daughter Jodi Dedera (Mike); five grandchildren, Jonah, Max, and Grace Wilkinson; Madilyn and Mya Dedera.
She taught at Scio Grade School and then at Dever Grade School. She then worked for Dever-Conner Community Church as a secretary. After that she worked for The State of Oregon, and finished the last 23 years of her career at Corbin University in the Education Department.
Mary Louise’s love for Jesus was evident to all who knew her. She was an active part of children’s ministry at Dever-Conner Church for many years. In later years she attended Jefferson Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had an infectious love for others and was evident by the smile that she always shared. Through all of the struggles that she faced with her health, she remained so positive and courageous.
She is preceded in death by her older brother, David, and parents, Marvin and Helen Fletcher.
She went to be with Jesus on March 21, 2018 after a 8 1/2 year journey with cancer.
A memorial service will be at 11:00am, Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Jefferson Baptist Church.
