Wilma was born October 21, 1932 in Pritchett, CO the daughter of Oliver Clyde and Dorothy Mae (Agee) Palmer. She passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Montrose Memorial Hospital at the age of 85.
Wilma was a very intelligent young lady and it was shown through in her school work. She graduated from Montezuma Cortez High School as Valedictorian. Then it was to college in Los Angeles, CA. at the L.I.F.E. Bible College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Wilma’s greatest passion in life was serving her Lord. She loved nothing more than to talk about her Savior and the Bible. Wilma was a walking dictionary, you could ask her anything about a scripture and she could tell you where it was in the Bible. And, in the small chance she didn’t know the answer, she could tell you where to look! Wilma’s family was so very important to her. She dearly loved her treasured husband of 60 years, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Wilma her children, Melanie Kardokus of Montrose, CO and Dennis Kardokus (Charlotte) of Salem, OR; her siblings, Vern Palmer (Kay) of Big Piney, WY, Lester Palmer of Albuquerque, NM, Dorothy “Dottie Mae” Young (Jim) of Branson, MO, and Loys Taylor of Sams Valley, OR.; by her six grandchildren, Teresa DeLeon, David Kardokus, Vickie Albiso, Rob Kardokus, Michelle Harrison, and Lexie Binoka; and nine great-grandchildren, Khriztopher Kardokus, Deion DeLeon, Kole Stuckman, Kaela DeLeon, Kyra Stuckman, Kiana DeLeon, Marely Jo Harrison, Charles Albiso, and Jackson “Jax” Harrison Jr. Following in her footsteps of ministry, her granddaughter Lexie and husband George will be serving as Missionaries in Africa upon completion of Seminary and deputation. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles David Kardokus Jr.; her children, Mark and Daniel Kardokus; by her sister, Wanda Bryant; and by her great-granddaughter, Nellie Albiso.
Memorial contributions may be made in Wilma’s name to Victory Baptist Church Missions Memorial Gifts 2890 N. Townsend Ave. Montrose, Colo. 81401.
