Gus J. “Reds” Catania, 93, of Eagleville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 24, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 29, 1924 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Vincent & Lillian Catania, and loving husband of Frances J. (Puleo) Catania.

Gus was a dedicated parishioner of the Holy Saviour Church in Norristown. Gus loved his country, he served in the Army during WWII and showed great passion and commitment for his service to his country. He worked for over 40 years at PECO Energy where he held many titles that he was very proud of. Gus was an avid golfer and would do so whenever he had the opportunity and even worked at the Shannondell Golf Course after retirement. He enjoyed playing pinochle, watching sports, and spending time with his family. Gus was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and dear friend to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will be missed by many.

In addition to his loving wife, Frances, he is survived by his three children, Lillian Catania, of Hatfield; Cathy Mowrey, of Kingwood, Texas; Vincent (Marie) Catania, of Skippack; one brother, Jim (Ann) Catania, of Newtown Square; and one sister, Mary Venezia. Gus is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Michael, Joseph, Vincent, Tricia, Christine, Kate, and Emily and seven loving great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three siblings, Faye Della Penna, William Catania, and Joseph Catania.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Gus on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 9:30-10:50 AM at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 East Main St., Norristown PA 19401. Mass will follow the viewing at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton PA 19403.
