ALEXANDRIA, IN-Darlene (Manring) Warfield, 69, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 25, 1948 in Alexandria to Herman and Deloris (Slain) Manring and was a lifetime resident of the Alexandria area. Darlene was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High school-Class of 1966. She also received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ball State University. She taught English at Highland High School for 31 years, retiring in 2006. She was a lifelong member of Epworth United Methodist Church, rural Alexandria and was very active in the church. She enjoyed walking, reading, swimming and being with her family.
Survivors: Husband-Bill Warfield-Married December 22, 1974 Daughter-Cara (Garrett) Miller-Fishers Sister-Camilla Smith-Alexandria 2 Grandsons-Mason Miller and Clayton Miller both of Fishers Several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters-Doris Mae Kellum and Ruth Miller
Services honoring Darlene’s life and legacy will take place at 3 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 North Harrison Street, Alexandria. Pastor Jerry Young will officiate. Interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 pm on Saturday prior to the services.
