Norman E. Roy, age 90, of Warwick, died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Jeannette O. (Martel) Roy.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Ernest N. and Melanie (Morin) Roy, he lived in Warwick since 1957. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Bryant College.
Mr. Roy was employed by Gilbane Building Co. in Providence for 40 years, retiring as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1995. He was an active parishioner and former trustee of St. Kevin Church in Warwick.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons and two daughters, Richard R. Roy of North Kingstown, Ronald H. Roy of Harrisburg, PA, Paul R. Roy of Cranston, Jean McGarry of Warwick, Deborah S. Edwards of Warwick, and John E. Roy of North Kingstown; a brother, Raymond Roy of Uxbridge, MA; a sister, Dorothy Roy of Warren; eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Norman E. Roy, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 15, at 11 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial will be private in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Kevin School, 39 Cathedral Road, Warwick 02889, or VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886.
