PEORIA—Clark R. Christiansen, 83, of Peoria, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

Born June 27, 1933 in Morris, a son of Arthur and Ruth Reimer Christiansen, Clark married Wilma J. Slutz November 10, 1957 at LaPrairie Center Methodist Chruch.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma, of Peoria; his children, Kay (Harvey) Rubin of Chicago, Jan Christiansen of Peoria, John (Linda) Christiansen of Naperville; three grandchildren, Jessica Rubin, James Rubin, Ethan Christiansen and two brothers, Howard Christiansen of Maumee, Ohio, Arthur James (Mary) Christiansen of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Clark received his bachelor's degree and master's from Bradley University.

He was a US Air Force Veteran.

Clark worked for District 150, 25 years, retiring as the band director at Richwoods High School in 1993. He was a passionate teacher who enjoyed sharing his love of music with his students.

He was a member of the Peoria Heights Suburban Lion's Club and played the drums professionally throughout the Peoria area. Besides his family and friends, his next great love was playing the drums, which he continued to do until recently.

Clark was a member of First United Methodist Church where memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2017 with the Rev. Dr. Robert Phillips officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at The Wilton Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Friday.
