KIMBERLY DANELL HAMILTON
On May 26, 2017, Kim's two year battle with cancer came to an end as she slipped gently into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by family members, at the Vista Grande Nursing Home in Cortez, Colorado.
Kim was born in Kearny, Arizona where she attended her K-12 schooling at Ray district schools. After graduating from high school, she then attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff for two more years. Over the past several years she had also taken online classes and earned a degree in criminal justice, and a certificate in photography and most recently was pursuing a certificate in massage therapy.
Kim enjoyed being with family and friends engaging in outdoor activities such as camping, shooting, hunting and photographing people and nature. She loved to plan and organize parties and events such as fund raisings, birthdays, retirements, school events and volunteered her services for county fairs and ranch rodeo's and was always ready to use her skills to photograph them. She loved county music, especially music by her idols, George Strait, and Sammy Kershaw, and would attend their concerts whenever possible. Kim was also a member in good standing with the NRA, in addition to being a great patriot for her county.
Kim's work history consisted of being a waitress, bartender, hostess, acid unloading technician for ASARCO Copper, store clerk, automobile title clerk, and was a certified public notary.
Kim is survived by her parents, Ron and Tres Hamilton; two sisters, Laurie Schoen, Rhonda (David) Dunaway; her brother, Toby (Becky) Hamilton; her son Cody (Heather) Hamilton; her daughter Lacy Hamilton; and her two beautiful grandchildren, Raylee, Cheyenne and Easton Roy Hamilton. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins in addition to many great friends.
Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents; Wayne and Wilodine Levitt, Robert and Violet Hamilton; her brother Darrel; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and great and special friends.
No memorial service is scheduled at this time, but contributions in her memory can be made to Hospice of Montezuma at PO Box 740, Cortez Colorado 81321, or at 970-565-6123.
The Hamilton family sends a special heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Montezuma and Vista Grande nursing and social staff members that were extremely compassionate, cordial, and caring during Kim's ordeal. She is now in a better place and will be greatly missed by all!
