Vincenzo Cantarelli, 82, died April 23, 2017 at the Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville surrounded by his family.
Born in Vatolla, Italy he arrived in downtown Jersey City, lived in Union City for many years before moving to North Arlington in 1993.
He was employed with the MacMillan Bloedel Containers in Jersey City for 27 years before retiring in 1998. During his retirement he spent his time enjoying his family, playing bocce with his friends, making his famous homemade mozzarella cheese and honing his woodworking skills. He was an active member of the Italia 2000 club of Lyndhurst where he leaves behind many good friends.
He is the beloved husband of Filomena (nee Malandrino), the cherished father of John Cantarelli (Jennifer), Frances Parisi (Rosario), Diana Greenfield (Allan), Vincent Cantarelli (Jennifer), and Joseph Cantarelli (Janine), the adored grandfather of Daniella, Marcella, Annalisa, Madison, Cory, James, Michael, Macklin, Joseph and Gianluca, and the dear brother of Angelina Marino and Flavia Cantarelli.
The funeral will be from the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington on Thursday, April 27 at 9 A.M. thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington for the Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. The entombment will follow in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Wednesday 4 to 8 P.M.
