Dr. Roberta Jean Linton, age 75, of Lapeer, formerly of California, Alabama and numerous other locations around the country, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Roberta was born January 30, 1941 in Burbank, California to Arnold and June (Rose) VanDerWilt. She married Dr. Royce Linton on March 11, 1960, also in Burbank, California. Dr. Linton received her Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and practiced as a Chiropractor for many years here in Lapeer and in Monroe, along with her husband. While living in the Pensacola, Florida area, Roberta was a Guardian ad litem, acting as a voice for the children in the court system. The Lintons attended many wonderful churches wherever they made their home including: the Lapeer Church of God, Corner Stone Baptist Church in Canton, New Life in Christ in Alabama, Raisinville Baptist Church in Monroe and Faith Bible Baptist Church in Lapeer. Mrs. Linton's greatest joy was caring for her children and grandchildren. "Kids were always running around everywhere" She loved spending time with family.
Dr. Linton is survived by her husband: Dr. Royce Linton of Lapeer; children: Debbie (Ken) Jostock of Lapeer, Royce Linton, II of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Van (Rachel) Linton of Grand Bay, Alabama and Lori Theis of Franklin, Georgia; grandchildren: Dr. Kenneth (Emily) Jostock, Jr. of Lapeer, Jeffrey Jostock of Lapeer, Kalyn (Matt) Turner of Georgia, Royce Linton, III of Georgia, Alahnna Linton of Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Amber Fennell of Florida, Andrew (Maggie) Linton of Texas, Samantha (Steven) Blankenship of Florida, Corbin Linton of Alabama, Logan Kynes of Alabama, Brandan Theis of Georgia and Dustin Theis of Georgia; and 15 great-grandchildren (+2 on the way). Roberta was preceded in death by her parents: Arnold and June VanDerWilt and her sister, Arlene Seabert.
Visitation will be 5-8PM Friday, October 28, 2016, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Roberta's service will be 11:00am Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the funeral home. Pastor Kenneth Norcross and Pastor Jeff Glass will officiate, with burial to follow in Stiles Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Your Choice.
