Donald Ray Travis, 79 of Lodi, Ohio passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at Medina Hospital.
He was born in Lodi on May 11, 1937 to James and Etta (Townsend) Travis.
He graduated from Lodi High School in 1955, and entered the U.S. Air Force later that year.
He was honorably discharged in 1964 at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California.
He received a Degree in Police Science from the Sacramento City College, and began his career in law enforcement with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. He would later move back to Ohio where he served as Sergeant with the Medina County Sheriff's Office and later with the Lodi Police Dept.
He is survived by his
Daughter, Kimberly Bicknell of Oregon
Son, James Travis of Arizona
4 Grandchildren: Jordan, Davis and Bryce Bicknell; and Amanda Godzinski
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Jo Baker, and brother Bob Travis.
Inurnment with military honors will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11:30 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
A gathering of family and friends will immediately follow at the recreation hall at Pine Villas Mobile Home Park in Lodi.
