Maureen E. Killackey of Aberdeen died Monday, May 23 at the age of 79. Born in Yonkers, NY she was the daughter of the late Michael & Helen (Higgins) Conway. Maureen was an avid reader known as Mrs. Killackey to many from her 20+ years of teaching history at Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, New York. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert F. Killackey Sr.; son LTC Robert F. Killackey Jr (USMC retired; wife Marianne) in Connecticut and daughters Christianne (Domenick) Demoro in Massachusetts, Mary Cooke in Maryland, Katie (Kevin) Makar in New York, Lauren (John) DeGiorgio in Oregon; brother John Conway in California; Sister Carol Spratt in New Jersey; and 12 grandchildren among other loving relatives and friends who will miss her. A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Wednesday the 25th of May from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at her local parish of over 20yrs, St. Joan of Arc on Thursday the 26th of May at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making a gift in the memory of Mrs. Maureen Killackey to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, 750 East Pratt Street, Suite 1700, Baltimore, MD 21202.
