Lise M. Young, 74, passed away January 30, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada on December 30, 1941, a daughter of Edouard and Laura (Boutin) Gilbert. Lise emigrated from Canada to New Hampshire in 1965, eventually settling in Manchester. She was a homemaker, working initially as a hairdresser and later as a nurses aid at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home and retiring from Catholic Medical Center. Lise loved to knit, crochet, do jigsaw puzzles and word jumbles. She was an incredible human being, always placing the needs of others ahead of her own.
She will be deeply missed by her four loving children, Daniel Richard, Linda Ryan and her husband David, Robert Richard and his wife Tammie, and Marlyne Stevens and her husband Glenn; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four siblings, Bertrand Gilbert, Diane Tessier, Suzette Gilbert, and Michel Gilbert; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 19 years, Walter Young; and five siblings.
Services: Calling hours will be held from 12 pm to 3 pm with the funeral service beginning at 3 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Goodwin Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 607 Chestnut Street, Manchester. Interment in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery will be private.
