Vern Allen Lillie, 76, of Albany passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday November 4th. He was born in Silverton to Raymond and Hazel Lillie. Vern grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany Union High School in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart Janet Weathers on September 27, 1958 in the First United Methodist Church.

Vern was a past member of the Albany Elks and Springhill Country Club. After graduation Vern worked for Hagedorn Oil Company, then went into business with his father, Raymond W. Lillie and Son General Contractors. Later on he worked for Oremet until retirement.

Vern enjoyed golf, steelhead fishing and spending time in his shop and with his family. He was a master woodworker, building most of the furniture in his home which was admired by many.

Vern is survived by his wife Janet of Albany; sons Michael and his wife Lori, and Patrick and his wife Irene all of Junction City; 13 grandchildren, 5 ½ great grandchildren; sister Otis Seavy of Albany; brother in laws Calvin Cheek of Albany and James Weathers of San Marcos, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vern was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mavis Cheek; brother in law David Seavy; and sister in law Joyce Weathers.

A memorial service will be at 1pm Saturday December 5th at the Albany First United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Assn. of Oregon or Samaritan Evergreen Hospice or the charity of one's choice in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington St., Albany, Oregon 97321.
