Robert C Young Sr (Shorty) Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A resident of Ossining NY, Robert passed away peacefully on the evening of September 10th, 2015, at the age of 84 yrs old. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Dorothy Young from Ossining, NY formally Collingdale, PA; as well as his 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Robert was born on March 24, 1931 in Yonkers NY, son of Stanley and Mary Young. He is pre deceased by two sisters Natalie Davis, Mary Graham, and one brother, Stanley Young. He served his country in the Korean War from Oct 1950 to Oct 1953, on three separate missions. Originally from Yonkers, NY he later moved to Hawthorne, NY where he and Dorothy raised 5 children and resided for 42 years. He was employed by Con Edison for 35 years and retired in 1995. Robert enjoyed working in his yard, cooking, and being with his children and grandchildren. He also loved traveling and visiting the casinos. He was well known for his great sense of humor and the constant laughter that surrounded him. In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project by visiting woundedwarriorproject.org/donate. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Saturday (today) 4-8PM. Interment private.
