Arthur (Art) J. Arsenault, age 91, of Milford, passed away peacefully Monday, August 31, 2015 at Milford Hospital. He was a World War II veteran with many honors for his service to this country. He loved music, especially bluegrass, and played many instruments, his favorite being the fiddle. He was a great photographer and could always be seen with a camera close by. After retiring from Sikorsky Aircraft as a special riveter, he learned to play golf. That game became his favorite past-time, and he met his favorite bunch of people Bill, Phil, Karen, Joe and the rest of the gang at 'The Orchards' golf course. They treated him like family to his last day. He will be dearly missed by his "girlfriend for over 50 years" Muriel Bolick; he was her soul-mate, best friend and her eyes. He will also be missed by his son Don and wife Maureen, sisters Lorraine Ciotti and Doris Moretti, granddaughter Lara Rice and husband Kenneth, great-grandsons Jack and Finn Rice, granddaughter Amy Arsenault, step- granddaughter Jessica Hoyt and husband Carl and great-grand sons Carl, Sean and Seth, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank the staff at both Westriver Rehab and Milford Hospital for the warm, kind, gentle and loving care they gave Art. Medical care is one thing, but tenderness is a gift. Art is predeceased by his parents Leo and Ella Arsenault, his son Arthur J. Arsenault Jr., his brothers Lionel and Walter Arsenault.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM meeting DIRECTLY at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd., Fairfield, CT with interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
