Nancy Petrizzi, age 56, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 after a
courageous 4½ year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Ricky Petrizzi.
Nancy grew up in Port Chester, NY, graduating from Port Chester High School. She
worked at Gannett Suburban Newspaper in Harrison NY for 15 years, until just before
moving to Fairfield 18 years ago. She worked for 2 years for Fairfield Schools Food
Services at Stratfield School before her illness. Nancy died 29 days before her 19 th
wedding anniversary. She was a very caring, wonderful wife and mother. Most of all she
was a proud and dedicated mother who's greatest joy was her daughter Amanda. She was
a fixture at any of Amanda's school functions, but most of all on the sidelines of her
softball games cheering on her and the team. Nancy battled cancer with a brave face that
no matter how hard things would get she would fight and didn't want anyone to feel sorry
for her. She enjoyed her yearly Disney trips, was a big New York Yankees fan and will
be dearly missed by all her friends. Survivors include her husband Ricky, her loving
daughter Amanda, a sister Patty Langworth of Port Chester, NY, and her father Charles
Amoroso. She will also be missed by her Father-in-law, Brothers and sisters-in-law and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother Teresa Amoroso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM meeting DIRECTLY at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield, burial will be private. Friends may call Friday, September 4, 2015 from 4-8
