JOAN MARIE MORGAN

Joan Marie Morgan (Cordova) passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, CO on August 27, 2015 she was 58 years young.

Joan was born in Denver, CO on September 25, 1956 to her parents Ronald Wayne and Gloria Mae Cordova. Wife of Ronald S. Morgan; Mother of Christopher T. Morgan, and Michelle M. Morgan, preceded in death by two daughters Adrienne Michelle and Jennifer Rae Morgan. Sister of Michael Cordova (Nancy) Denver, CO; Helen Goodholm (Jon) Aurora, CO; Denise Cordova (Tom Abbott) Alamosa, CO; and Marian Aspnes (Chris) Lomita, CA and Sister-in-Law to Roger L. Morgan (Kathy) Fort Collins, CO. Joan is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan graduated from Englewood High School in 1974 and received her Associates of Arts Degree from Arapahoe Community College in 1976 later earning her dental assistant and x-ray certification in 2004.
Joan was a devoted mother, volunteering with many organizations such as the Children's Hospital Colorado, Pinnacle High School track team, and Phoenix Cotillion. No matter what city she lived in she embraced her Catholic Parish Council. After relocating to Mancos, CO May of 2010, Joan enjoyed her mountain home, loved the wildlife and great outdoors. She joined the Vectra Bank, City Market Branch in Cortez, CO as a valued member of the banking team. She was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church; an avid Broncos fan, she enjoyed fishing, cooking for others, and collecting many things. She was a patient, selfless, caring and loving wife, mother, sister and friend.

Mass of the Christian burial will be held Tuesday, September 1, at 10: 30 am in Cortez. A memorial will be held Saturday, September 26th at Holy Name Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 11:30 am with a reception immediately following at the St. Agnes Center located at 3290 W. Milan Avenue, Sheridan, CO 80110.
