Barbara Ann Eason was born on July 19, 1938, to Jewel Fuller Alsobrook, Sr. and Bertha Ellen Edge and finally found peace and rest after a long, hard-fought battle with her respiratory illness on August 29, 2015 at the age of 77, where she was surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Oscar Quinton Eason, and her daughter, Joy Ellen Eason Rountree. She is survived by her children, Edward Quinton Eason and his wife, Mary of Carrollton, Texas; Steven Lee Eason and his wife, Colleen of Allen, Texas; and her daughter Rhonda Diane Eason Roberts of Winnsboro, Texas. Grannie is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Stephanie Rountree, Troy Eason, Amy Eason, Andrew Eason, Cathy Rountree Ziska, Roxanne Roberts Duval, Christopher Roberts and Donovan Roberts as well as three great-grandchildren, Audrey Eason, Anderson Eason and Braden Eason. She is further survived by extended family through the marriages of her children, whom she always called her own.

Barbara was born on the Harper Ranch, near Sulphur Bluff, in Franklin County, Texas, and moved with her parents to Dallas at an early age. There she married Quinton and lived in the Dallas and Mesquite areas, raising their family until moving to Winnsboro, Texas, where she resided for over 30 years until coming to Carrollton, Texas, shortly before her passing. The strength and tenacity she brought to her life is reflected in the love and devotion she gave to her family.

A family and friends gathering will be held on Friday, September 4, in the home of Eddie and Mary Eason in Carrollton. The graveside service for Grannie will be on Saturday, September 5, at 10:00 a.m. in the morning at Laurel Oaks Cemetery in Balch Springs with Mark Edge of Tyler officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association in Texas – Dallas.
