September 1, 1929 - July 24, 2015
Tony passed away on July 24, 2015 at the age of 85. Born at home in San Pedro, he attended 15th Street Elementary, Dana Jr. High, graduating from San Pedro High in 1947. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in 1953, earning the prestigious Jesuit honor of Alpha Sigma Nu Society. He enjoyed a long career in the fishing industry at Star Kist Foods and Pan Pacific Fisheries. Preceded in death by his parents Ante Trutanich and Jere (Jaksic) Trutanich, and his brother Nick; he is survived by Pat, his loving wife of 55 years; his son David, daughters Anne (Jonathan) Scheffler and Linda (David) Cheek; grandchildren Anthony and Elizabeth Scheffler; and brother John P. Trutanich, Sr. (Kay). Visitation will be at McNerney's Mortuary on Wednesday July 29th from 5 to 8 PM and Funeral Mass will be on Thursday July 30 at 10:30 AM at Mary Star of the Sea Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Building Fund or Scholarship Fund, Dalmatian-American Club, 1639 S. Palos Verdes St., San Pedro, CA 90731.
