George L. Ludington, age 80, of Attica, died Wednesday July 22, 2015. Mr. Ludington was born August 30, 1934 in Owosso, Michigan to Virgil and Mildred (Holzhausen) Ludington. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked over 29 years as a die maker for General Motors - Fisher Body. Mr. Ludington married Evelyn Blanche Wright Clark on November 9, 1992 in Toledo, Ohio. George loved his wife, his church, family and friends and not always in that order. He loved working with his hands building things: his home, log cabins, working on his Chevelle. Mr. Ludington liked helping others and teaching them about the things he knew and they wanted to know. George loved his dogs especially Suki who is waiting for him at the Golden Gates of Heaven. Mr. Ludington was a member of the First Baptist Church of Attica and the Lapeer American Legion Post #16.
Mr. Ludington is survived by his wife: Evelyn Ludington of Attica; daughter: Joyce (William J. III) Crampton of Minnesota; step-daughters: Leanne Cook of Taylor and Michele Gonzalez of Attica; grandchildren: Angela Leeanne, Aimee, Andrea, Gary, Leigha, Katie, Angie Renee, James, Donald, Christopher, Courtney, Candy, Misty, Chantel, Samantha, Ashley, Alex, Michael, Darren, Sam, Adam, Jessica and Jay; sister: Arlene (Chester) Rives of Attica; sister-in-laws: Faye (Howard) Hagon of Swartz Creek and Elaine Wright of Flint. George was preceded in death by his first wife: Eloise Ludington; second wife: Lula Mae Ludington; in-laws: Bruce and Lulu Wright; step-sons: James, Lonnie, Mike and Sam Clark.
A memorial service for George will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 8, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Attica, 4594 Imlay City Rd., Attica, MI 48412. The memorial service will be followed immediately by military honors under the auspices of Lapeer American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00P.M. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Condolences may be placed at www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com
