Lifelong Nutley Resident, 81

William D. Bowes, 81, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at St. Paul's Congregational Church, 10 St. Paul's Place, Nutley on Friday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be held privately. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Thursday, July 2 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Bowes was a lifelong resident of Nutley. He worked most of his career in the family business, George T. Bowes Realty, Nutley, which was in existence for nearly a century. Bill loved helping people make Nutley their home and as a result often created lifelong friends. He was the past President and Treasurer of the United Association, Board of Realtors and was an active member of St. Paul's. Bill loved to have fun, preferably with friends and family, and enjoyed bowling, bridge, golf and singing.

Mr. Bowes is predeceased by his wife Peggy Ann Bowes (nee Connors), his parents George T. and Geraldine (nee Jacobus) Bowes, and his brother Thomas Bowes.

He is survived by his beloved son Raymond Bowes, Ray's wife Kerry and his precious grandson Kyle Bowes; and his loving sister Judy Murray. He will also be dearly missed by his longtime companion Gwen Canfield and her children Laura Canfield and Rick Thomas, Douglas and Alison Canfield, and Elissa Canfield; and grandchildren Katie, Makayla, Lucas, Madeleine, Meagan and Dylan. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
