Dale Macy, 77, of Monroe, died Monday at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House in Albany. Born in Baker City to Leon Adonas and Jessie (Holcomb) Macy, Dale grew up in Baker City and then entered the US Army and proudly served in the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he lived in the Albany and Corvallis areas until his death. He married Mary Groshong on May 5th, 1965. Mary passed away in 2008.
Dale loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid Beaver fan, particularly football.
Survivors include sons David and his wife Jodilee of Albany, Steve and his wife Terrie of Montana, and Dale "Scott" of Monroe; daughter Sherry Gruis of Burns; brother Don; sisters Ruth, Dolly, and Ernestine; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Mary and sisters Bonnie and Grace.
A celebration of Dale's life is being planned for a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington St., Albany, OR 97321.
