Everett Mack, 99, of The Villages, FL, widower of Barbara (Allard) Mack, passed away Tuesday (June 9, 2015) at The South Campus Rehab and Nursing Center in Leesburg, FL. Born in New Britain, he lived there until moving to Florida in 1994. A graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1934, he owned and operated Mack Engraving Company in Kensington until his retirement in 1981. "Ev" was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Britain and was a member and past master of Walnut Hill Lodge #139 AF& AM , now Unity Lodge #148. He served as treasurer of Walnut Hill from 1978 to 1994; was a 32 degree Scottish Right Mason and a member of Sphinx Temple Shrine in Newington, where he was a member of the Highlanders (the Temple Bagpipe Band). Ev was a past district deputy of the Grand Lodge and a former member of Hartford County Lodge of Actual Past Masters. In Florida he was a member of Araba Temple Shrine in Fort Myers, FL and an active and creative clown with Jokers Clowns in Naples, FL.
Surviving is his daughter, Darlene Wood and her husband Larry of The Villages, FL; four grandchildren, Darral Aquino; Lynn Aquino Lim and her husband Larry; Elizabeth Mack and her partner Marc Moson and David Mack and his wife Salua Baida; six great grandchildren, Julianne, Justin and Jadyn Aquino and Daniel, Emily and Kayla Lim; nephew Bary DeMers; three nieces Joan Dabkowski, Wendy DeMers and Barbara DeMers Seyez and three great nieces. Besides his wife Barbara, he was predeceased by a son, Fredric Mack and a sister Frances Dabkowski.
Funeral Services are Sunday ( June 14, 2015) 1 PM at the Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Calling hours will be Sunday from 12 Noon until 1 PM. A Masonic Service will be conducted Sunday 12:45 PM during the calling hour. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
