Mary Yoder 76, of 6121 C.R. 19 Millersburg, died Monday May 18, 2015 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a period of declining health. Born March 13, 1939 in Holmes County she was a daughter of the late David S. and Katie (Yoder) Schlabach. She was a homemaker and loved to quilt. She was also a member of the Old Order Amish Church. On January 10, 1961 she married John J. Yoder, Jr. and he survives. Also surviving are three daughter and three sons Atlee (Anna) Yoder, Esta (David A.) Hershberger, Betty (Robert) Barkman, Myron (Naomi) Yoder all of Millersburg, Ivan (Esther) Yoder of the home and Bertha (Vernon) Yoder of Sugarcreek; 32 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers Sarah (Dan D.) Hershberger, Anna Schlabach, John (Esther) Schlabach all of Millersburg, Edna (Jacob J.) Miller of Cashton, WI, Sam (Kathy) Schlabach of Dalton and David D. (Alta) Schlabach of Baltic. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Firman Yoder, a sister Emma Yoder and three brothers Daniel, Andy and Atlee Schlabach.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 21, 2015 at 9:00 AM at the Yoder residence. Minister
Allen Yoder will officiate and burial will follow in Raber Cemetery in Mechanic Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements.
