Betty V. Sjogren (nee Sekerak), 93, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Job Haines Assisted Living.
Born in Cleveland, OH, Betty lived most of her life in Bloomfield. She was a member and president of the Bloomfield Public Library Board of Trustees and the Friends of the Library, a board member of the Isaiah House in East Orange, former president of the Watsessing School Home and School Association, member of the planning committee for the Bloomfield Sesquicentennial, and she received the Outstanding Citizen Award in 1969 from the Bloomfield VFW.
Betty was the mother of Leslie A. Stewart of Glen Mills, PA, Ernest K. Sjogren and his wife Mary of Durham, NC, Peter A. Sjogren and his companion Eileen of Briarcliff, NY, and Roger A. Sjogren of Bloomfield; sister of the late Dorothea Sekerak and the late Mildred Hofacker; grandmother of Leigh Green, Peter M. Sjogren, Bradley Stewart, John Sjogren, Andrew Wagar, Lynn Stewart; and great grandmother of Haydyn Mulholland, Lily Green, Anna-Sophia Sjogren, Wesley Green and Jason Golden.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Bethel.
