ALEXANDRIA, IN-Bruce L. Yeagy, 74, Alexandria passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.

He was born on January 2, 1941 in Greentown to Emery and Mary (Moulder) Yeagy and was well known, having lived in the Summitville-Alexandria area all of his lifetime. Bruce came from humble beginnings and worked hard all of his life. He was a graduate of Summitville High School-Class of 1959. He played basketball for the Summitville Goblins where he set and still holds many Madison County High School basketball records. He also played on the Indiana All-Star basketball team in 1959. Bruce attended Purdue University on a basketball scholarship and played basketball for the Purdue Boilermakers and remained loyal to the "Black and Gold" the rest of his life. Bruce served with the Military Police in United States Army from 1963 to 1965.He retired from supervision at Delco-Remy after 30 years of employment. Following retirement he became very involved with construction and excavating. He was founder and builder of the Summerside Equine Training Center in Anderson

Brothers-Bradley Yeagy and Bill (June) Yeagy all of Summitville, Blaine Yeagy-Anderson
Sister-Barbara Saubert-Alexandria
Sisters-in-Law-Marsha Ryan and her son Killian, Geri Yeagy all of Alexandria
Several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother-Bob Yeagy, Sister-Beverly Maska

Family and friends are invited to call at the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Private graveside services will take place on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Vinson Memorial Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Elwood VFW-#5782 Honors Team.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Community Hospital Healthy Hearts program through the funeral home.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to St. Vincent's Heart Center and Cardiologist Dr. Elaine Moen MD, the wonderful team members of the Community Healthy Hearts program, the St. Vincent Hospice program, Bill and June Yeagy and Amanda Betz for walking this difficult journey with Bruce and his family.
