BRINKMEIER, Eugene Paul "Brink", 77, of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at home.
He was born May 8, 1937 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Paul and Christine Widmor Brinkmeier.
Gene was a retired employee of the Ormet Corporation, a Production Planner for 41 years.
He was a member (officer) of the Moundsville Jaycees, (officer) of the Knights of Columbus, and Central Boosters.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a U.S. Marine Veteran.
He was a major sports enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Surviving are his loving wife of 53 yrs., Gloria C. Palmer Brinkmeier; two sons, Bruce Brinkmeier and wife Tammy (Okel) Brinkmeier of Wheeling; Brian Brinkmeier and wife Tricia (Farhatt) Brinkmeier; one sister, Dorothy J. (Jerome) McCloskey of Wheeling; four grandchildren, Jessica, Valerie, Justin and Jenna Brinkmeier, several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where Vigil services will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling.
Interment with Military Honors in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
