Edna M. Ponke, 91, of Prudenville passed away on Monday January 19, 2015 at King Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre.
Edna was born on June 5, 1923 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to George and Edna(Fredericks) Hoffman. She was married on June 14, 1941 in Utica, Michigan to Leonard A. Ponke. The couple moved to Houghton Lake from Rochester in 1988. Edna spent her time as a home maker, wife, and mother of her three children. Her family was her love especially spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving Mrs. Ponke are her daughter, Priscilla (Peter) Karaczewski of Houghton Lake, MI; two sons, Tim (Darla) Ponke of Houghton Lake, and Tom (Marla) Ponke of Davison; three sisters, Beatrice Axford of Gaylord, Carole Ann Malzahn of Colorado Springs, CO, and Melanie Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL; several nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard A. Ponke and four siblings.
Family graveside services for Edna M. Ponke will be conducted in the spring at Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
