Josephine "Josie" (LoGiudice) Anderson of Cromwell, beloved wife of Donald "Don" L. Anderson, Sr., passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Born on May 12, 1939 in Wallingford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Masella) LoGiudice.
Josie attended Middletown schools, graduated Middletown High School Class of 1957 where she met her husband. Don and Josie were high school sweethearts who were married 54 years. After high school, she worked for the Atomic Energy Commission and for Hartford National Bank as a secretary in the Credit Department.
After raising five children, Josie went back to work as a Financial Aid Officer at Holy Apostles College in Cromwell and then worked for 16 years as a Senior Financial Aid Officer at the University of Hartford before retiring in May of 1996. Josie was a former President of St. John's Women's Guild and a member of the Past President's Club of St. John's parish. She was an avid UCONN college basketball fan who loved to watch and attend UCONN Women's and CT Sun basketball games. Josie enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout their marriage and during their many retirement years together, visiting states throughout the US and many trips to countries all over Europe, Switzerland being one of her favorites.
Besides her husband, Don, Josie is survived by her daughters, Kristie-Rae Damiane of Cromwell, Karen Pettiford (Michael) of Maryville, TN, Kathleen "Katie" Moran (John) of Cromwell, Karleen Anderson of New York; a son, Donald L. Anderson, Jr. (Mercedes) of Costa Rica; eight grandchildren, Steven Burnham, Rachel Burnham Buonanducci (Glenn), Jamie Burnham (Jeff Sales), Justine Anderson Burdick (Jeremie), Alan Anderson, Kayla McCarthy, Kerri McCarthy and Ashley Pettiford; a great-grandson Luke Stennett of Portland and a great-granddaughter, Natalia Mae Sales of Windsor. She also leaves two aunts, Connie Masella and Carmelena DeProto, three sisters-in-law, Madeline McDermott, Ruth Anderson and Haruko Anderson along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Salvatore LoGiudice and a sister, Connie Pattavina.
