Lisa Ann Vess, 51, was born May 11, 1963 in Waco, TX. She went to be with our Lord on January 1, 2015. Lisa married her high school sweetheart, William Dale Vess, in May of 1982, and they enjoyed 32 wonderful years together. Lisa worked as a sales associate for Macy's department store for 32 years. Lisa was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1991, and, with great strength, she overcame it and entered remission. In 2013, the cancer returned, and Lisa continued to fight until the very end. During her years in remission, Lisa became a shining light to others who suffered the disease. She spent her free time communicating with other survivors and current patients, encouraging them to never give up the fight. She participated in many fundraisers, and every time she could, she would walk for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Lisa became an inspiration to many and a joy to all who knew her. Lisa is preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie; father, Elbert; and nephew, Kory. She is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Sybil; son Scott and wife, Averie; brothers Kenneth and John and their families; step-mother, Carolyn; and step-siblings, Lisa and Rick and their families. She was fortunate to have been a part of a very large family and is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as many extended family members and friends.
