Edward F. Pogoda, 98, formerly of Lyndhurst and North Arlington died November 25, 2014 in Calabash, North Carolina.
Ed worked as a self-employed engraver for many years and most recently as a crossing guard in North Arlington.
Ed was member of the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council No. 3428 of North Arlington , a member of their bowling league, an active member and past commander of the Alhambra El Sheedy Caravan and a 4th Degree Member of the Peter B. O'Connor Assembly. He was also very involved in Scouting, Umpiring and the Queen of Peace Booster Club.
Ed was the beloved husband for 73 years of Valerie (Wieczerzak) , who he married at St. Michael's Church in Lyndhurst. He is the cherished father of Edward and his wife Mary Ann, Roger and his wife Phyllis, Donald and his wife Jane, the loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren , 5 great grandchildren, and the dear brother of Lottie Hibberd.
The funeral will be from the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington, on Saturday, December 6th at 9 A.M. thence to St. Michael's Church, Lyndhurst for the Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. The interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday 4 to 7 P.M.
